Just 3 months after
Whitney Houston's tragic death, news of a new reality show is sweeping the
nation. Houston was a famous singer; she grabbed the hearts of millions of fans
of all ages, everywhere. Her hits include "I Will Always Love you"
and her rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner". Whitney was the
first person to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 11 with 7 consecutive
singles. All of her top 10 hits reached number one. When the
star overdosed on drugs and drowned in her bathtub, all her fans were
devastated.
Now, 3 months
later, a new reality show is set to show on Lifetime, “The Houston Family
Chronicles”. The show will star Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina; mom, Cissy;
sister-in-law and manager, Pat Houston; Pat’s daughter, Rayah; and Houston’s
brother, Gary. Lifetime states the 10 episode series will follow the Houston
family “as they take on their greatest challenge, supporting and guiding Bobbi
Kristina as she faces the world alone, without the one person she relied on
most, her Mother.”
The hit artist’s
fans are not showing much support for this show and are outraged. There are
many people freely expressing the fact that they feel the Houston family is
exploiting themselves, taking advantage of Whitney’s passing. Many people do
not feel it is right to broadcast the star’s legacy as a reality show so soon
after her passing.
I’m excited to see
the reactions once the show hits the air. I suspect there will be many unhappy
watchers. Personally, I think it’s horrible to be very quick to take
opportunity of a family member’s death to make money.

This has an air of exploitation to it. I understand that the daughter is upset but, I don't see how a camera crew being by her 24/7 will make her feel any better. Also, who would watch this? I mean, I loved Whitney Houston yet, I wouldn't want to watch people cry about her. I would rather listen to her music.
